Our sources close to Microsoft have confirmed to us that Microsoft will officially sign-off on the Windows 7 RTM build on July 13, 2009, which is the same day as the Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) in New Orleans.
According to sources, Microsoft is still in the process of testing RTM candidate builds, the last known RTM candidate build was 6.1.7265.0.win7_rtm.090624-1905. The company is working to ensure that all show-stopper bugs that are present in the operating system get fixed prior to release, this will ensure that the RTM build is as bug-free as possible.
Also, as with previous Windows releases TechNet, MSDN, and other partner connections will be getting their hands on the RTM build shortly after, if not on the same day.
Mark your calendars, July 13, 2009 is the day Windows 7 goes Gold. Of course, we will be keeping you up to date with the latest information regarding this important milestone. Also, we will be posting our review, and screenshot gallery as soon as it’s available.
