Apple have pushed out iOS update OS 4.3.3, which stops your iOS devices from storing your location.

Apple device owners were concerned that their location was being stored in a file that could easily be accessed and used to track their movements.

Update Changes:

  • Reduces the size of the cache
  • No longer backs the cache up to iTunes
  • Deletes the cache entirely when Location Services is turned off

A future version will then encrypt the database to make it more secure.

Products compatible with this software update:

iPhone 4 (GSM model)
iPhone 3GS
iPad 2
iPad
iPod touch (4th generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation)

This update is available via iTunes.

Apple recently released a statement on the matter, you can read that Here
