E3 2011: Microsoft Press Briefing the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Stage Demo
On Monday, June 6, 2011 Microsoft held their press briefing at the annual gaming convention E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) in Los Angeles,California. To open the event, Infinity Ward Creative Strategist Robert Bowling took the stage after a brief intro to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was played.
Following the introduction to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare3, Robert Bowling took the stage with an Xbox 360 controller in hand and started the demo of the single player mission "Hunter Killer" on stage. Of course, there was a comical moment when the Xbox 360 controller Robert Bowlingwas using inadvertently disconnected during the beginning moments of the demo.
Robert later stated via Twitter, "Batteries are overrated"in response to the incident during the demo. It's all fun and games, theincident brought laughter amongst the crowd. Laughter aside, the demo looked spectacular, I like that thedemo mission contains drivable vehicles again. The mission's objective isclear, you assume the role of Sergeant Frost, a member of the Delta Force Special Forces, and you and your diving buddy "Sandman" cut a grate in order to meet up with a United States Navy SEAL team. Once you meet up with the team of United States Navy SEALs, your objective is to breach the submarine by placing an explosive and then get to the control room inside the submarine.
Upon reaching the control room, after fighting off enemy combatants, "Sandman" will coordinate with Navy personnel and you will then launch rockets. After successfully launching the rockets, you will then get into a Zodiac inflatable craft; you will then board a Boeing CH-47 Chinook (A Medium LiftTransport / utility helicopter) which there to take you away from the battle.
