During the tour Microsoft will demonstrate the new features of Windows 7 and Office 2010 on a bus. In January 2007 Microsoft set off on a Windows Vista coach tour that featured comfy leather recliners, wireless internet, Xbox 360s and free copies of Windows Vista.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 “Stimulus Package” map pack will contain five new maps, two of which are from the previous Modern Warfare title, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, “Crash” and “Overgrown”, the latter was the stage for the beta of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and it was later released as part of the map pack. The new additions to Modern Warfare 2 include “Storm”, and open industrial park littered with heavy machinery; “Salvage”, a snowy junkyard fortified by stacked debris and crushed cars, and lastly,  “Bailout,” which is a multi-level apartment complex.

Meanwhile, shortly after the release, Infinity Ward has planned “Double XP weekend” which will run from April 2 through April 5.

Overall the map pack sounds like an awesome addition the Modern Warfare 2, Whether the price is too high for you or not, that’s a decision you’re going to have to make on your own.

Infinity Ward, the creator of the highly popular shooter, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is set to release the first DLC exclusively on the Xbox 360 on March 30, 2010. Following the release to the Xbox 360, players on Sony’s PlayStation 3 and PC players will get the DLC a few weeks later.

Rumors are floating around about the DLC for Modern Warfare 2 will include some popular multiplayer maps from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare,  such as “Overgrown” and “Crash”  included in the Modern Warfare 2 map pack which is coming on March 30, 2010.  Other maps which are exclusive to Modern Warfare 2 include “Storm”, “Complex”, and “Compact”.

In addition, it has also been stated in unofficial capacity that Infinity Ward will add new Special Ops Missions as well with the upcoming DLC release on the 30th.

This is the first of two map packs that will be released, the second is said to come in the fall of this year.

Its called light and it comes in two flavors a “Light” one and a “Dark one, it also comes with a new wallpaper,bootscreen a new Empathy theme, new icons and a redesigned logo.

For the first time, the company is announcing that it plans to release a new game in the Call of Duty series in 2011 and that Sledgehammer Games, a newly formed, wholly owned studio is in development on a Call of Duty game that will expand the Call of Duty franchise into the action-adventure genre.

Sledgehammer Games is helmed by industry veterans Glen A. Schofield and Michael Condrey. Prior to joining Activision Publishing, Schofield was the Executive Producer of the award-winning game, Dead Space and Michael Condrey was the Sr. Development Director on the game. The Dead Space franchise has won more than 80 industry awards worldwide including the prestigious A.I.A.S. Action Game of the Year and two B.A.F.T.A.S.

While, the Call of Duty business unit will be led by Philip Earl, who currently runs Activision Publishing’s Asia Pacific region and previously served in senior executive positions with Procter & Gamble and Nestle. Activision Publishing veterans Steve Pearce, chief technology officer and Steve Ackrich, head of production, will lead Infinity Ward on an interim basis.

In a press release from Activision, the company has confirmed that Jason West and Vince Zampella are no longer with Infinity Ward. However, the company will not comment as to the reason West and Zampella are no longer with Infinity Ward.

Just like most applications for Ubuntu installing this is a breeze, first thing we are gonna do is adding the ppa to our system and then install the application.
So open a terminal and copy paste the following commands in it.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tualatrix/ppa

sudo apt-get update

Impression after first bootup:

I was just sitting there wondering when it was done, then after a few seconds it hit me “Its already booted”.
Its just that fast, click the icon and you’re instantly looking at the player no delay what so ever.

Ok so after my little wake up i decided to add my library, which is about 38GB in size so its pretty big.
And let me tell you its pretty fast compared to Rhythmbox or Banshee, some have reported it to be a bit slower but i actually found it to load my full library a bit faster, also its very light on resources compared to some of the other players.

Features:

Well it has everything you expect a music player to have, and it doesn’t really have anything that sets it apart from the rest feature wise:

• Play mp3, ogg, flac, wma, mpc, mp4, ape, etc
• Read and write tags in all supported formats
• Allow to catalogue your music using labels. Any track, artist or album can have as many labels you want
• Smart play mode that add tracks that fit your music taste using the tracks currently in play list

• Ability to download covers manually or automatically from the internet

• Allow fast access to any music file by genre, artist, album, etc
• Play shoutcast radios

this little application called “Xsplash Background Settings” allows you to change it to any wallpaper you like on the fly.

It allows you to use a custom background or to use the current Desktop background for Xsplash.

How to install

First add the repository by entering the following command in terminal

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:meerkat/stable

After you have added the repository you need to enter the following commands in a terminal to install it:

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install xsplash-background-settings

And thats it!
