Whilst scouring the net, looking for a Wubi equivalent for other Linux Flavours that would allow me to install without a CD or even a USB Drive.

On the Official Site, 'UNetbootin' is described as an application that "allows you to create bootable Live USB drives for a variety of Linux distributions from Windows or Linux, without requiring you to burn a CD. You can either let it download one of the many distributions supported out-of-the-box for you, or supply your own Linux .iso file if you've already downloaded one or your preferred distribution isn't on the list".

Searching the 'Features' section of the site reveals that like Wubi, you can also use it to install Linux directly from your Hard Drive! Note: This is sometimes referred to as a 'Frugal Install'.

Simply supply 'UNetbootin' with an .iso file (Compatible Flavours include; Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, CentOS to name but a few. See more information here)

Not only is the application Windows friendly, but you can also use it from within Linux.

Users are advised to use the Windows Version should they have difficulties with the Linux version as it usually works better.

This is one of the most reliable ways to make a bootable USB stick.
I have tried several options like using the dd command, ubuntu startup disk creator .etc and this comes in a close second right after the Ubuntu Startup Disk Creator.
The only downside to Ubuntu Startup Disk Creator is that its limited to Ubuntu images.
