Ok let me try to explain my problem. Im quite tech savvy but this one has got me.
I have a sony vaio laptop which came with windows 7 home premium x64 and all worked fine until i did an anytime upgrade to windows 7 ultimate x64. For some strange reason my blue tooth and wed cam get shut down. This is totally random as some times they can be on for 30 mins and other times for less than 5 mins. Iv tried removing software that i have added since the upgrade but to no avail. Its possible that it could be a usb driver problem as there are times that i plug in my ipod touch and windows says its installing driver when its installed already. Only thing iv not tried yet is factory reset but i really don't want to down grade windows 7. Ohh yeah before anybody says, i have googled the problem with no luck.

Remove the old drivers for all affected hardware and reinstall the latest ones from the sony website, see if that helps. I found some other threads on the internet with the same issues (Bluetooth and Webcam) and that was the suggestion.

I have tried that. When the blue tooth is on divice manager lists the driver as foxconn but the driver on the sony site is broadcom. The driver does install but the blue tooth does not work at all with the broadcom driver.

Results i looked at

Nothing really conclusive from what i can see on the threads shown, i also searched for webcam after anytime upgrade...it might end up being a full reinstall for you pal

May be worth trying to remove old drivers, remove hardware from within device manager and restarting to let Windows find the hardware and try installing drivers that way.

I can see this. It is an odd occurance. But it happens on 90% of the time it results in a reinstall. Martin you still got that Win7 DVD that i sent ya or did you get it from another source? I might have to upload my Win7 Ultimate disk which you should be able to use with that serial.

Everything should be fine when you reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on your laptop. You will be able to use the product key with the Windows 7 DVD you have and it should activate without any problems. Although, if you've used the key more than 4 times you may need to call Microsoft to get your system activated, that is the only problem i can see happening at this point.

OK first sorry its taken time for me to reply but work has been heavy, Karl will put it down to old age but ignore the jolly fisherman.
@ Karl, i did as you suggested although id done it before and same result (zilch).

@ Alex, no m8 i don't have the image you sent me. The one i have was downloaded from another source and i do believe that's the problem so if you could upload again i would appreciate it very much as it looks like I'm going to have to strip back and start again. Thank heaven for external drives.
