When it comes to Windows 7, no doubt many of us are skeptical. The Windows Vista bug spread rapidly, creating an intense feeling of expectation in its formative years. Longhorn Alpha's dominated every Desktop and mind, everyone was ready to get their hands on the final thing.

Looking at my Vista Desktop now however, i have to consider what have i honestly gained?

I agree there are many negative reviews of Vista and i'm not actually against it. I use it daily, almost religiously but i feel the experience that Microsoft were promising is missing and Service Pack 1 did little to make me feel better. Much of the eye candy we craved for is now available in XP and the important features, the very pillars that Longhorn was said to be built upon are gone, forgotten.

So what should we Demand of Windows 7?

Demand may seem a little strong, but we are the ones who use the finished product. It's important end-users and developers speak out through Blogs and Communities and voice their opinion to Microsoft. Windows 7 could be the Operating System that puts Microsoft well and truly back on the map for the next 10 years, perhaps the next XP in terms of longevity. Its going to have to be good, because while many of us sing Vista's praises, many of the people i speak to are waiting to see what else Microsoft come up with.

The facts speak for themselves, i'm not coming with anything new and i am not coming simply to moan at Microsoft. Infact, i believe this post shows faith that a difference can be made!

I lost hope when they killed BlackComb :D.

All those promises were lost much like Longhorn's promises. I'd like to see them stick to their plans and push Windows 7 to BE THE BEST rather than just creating hype and desire to use it. I want a cold hard proof factor that says I NEED this Operating System. Like I have stated in many posts, it's looking to be Vista 2.0 rather than the revolutionary 64 bit only OS we were all looking forward to. And that's just the tip of the ice berg!
