Microsoft stops Office Genuine Advantage -----

The Microsoft Office Genuine Advantage program has been shut down and is no longer Supported, a move which has surprised many including some over at Microsoft.

A statement confirming this can be found in the December 17th 2010 KB Article 917999:

"The Office Genuine Advantage (“OGA”) program has been retired. For more information about the benefits of genuine Office, please visit the following website:

Benefits of genuine Office

This will not affect Microsoft Office Activation and you will still need Windows Genuine advantage to validate downloads from the Microsoft Download Center.
