
Chris Staniforth, a UK Resident died in May this year of Deep Vein Thrombosis, an ailment that would normally be associated with long distance travel.
Data from his XBOX 360 console showed that he would frequently play for 12 hours at a time, without taking breaks. A clot traveled up his leg, into his long which proved fatal.
His Father is now campaigning to raise awareness, hoping to make gamers more aware of the risks.
Microsoft have since issued a statement "we recommend gamers take periodic breaks to exercise as well as make time for other pursuits."
